This will often depend on the complexity of the case. For the most part, if the case is clear-cut (you waited more than five hours, the airline had a problem, and you no longer wish to fly), the money should reach your account in around seven days. If the case is a bit more complex, you might have to wait a few weeks until you get the funds.

The airline’s website has a page specifically designed for this, where you can manage your bookings. That said, if the airline is not compliant and refuses to grant a refund despite your right to, it’s much better to go for a flight compensation company. This way, you can even get payment for the trouble alongside your reimbursement.

If you book any additional services, such as seat selection or extra baggage, EasyJet must also pay for that. Since it appears on the ticket or receipt as a service you did not receive, EasyJet must comply. This is if the delay is significant enough (more than five hours).

For the most part, extraordinary circumstances such as airport strikes or severe weather might exempt the airline from offering compensation. Having said that, if the delay lasts for longer than five hours and you do not wish to take an alternative flight, you may get a refund from EasyJet.

If you waited and accepted an alternative for rerouting from EasyJet within five hours, then you may not be able to get a refund for the ticket. That said, if the delay caused disruptions to your travel plans, you are entitled to receive compensation through EC261/2004.

Mostly, this depends on the distance you were supposed to cover during the flight. Domestic flights could entitle you to up to 250 EUR in compensation, whereas long-distance international flights could go as high as 600 EUR.
